loco colo is an idea that has been festering for a while. crazy colorado, sooo many parks, so much terrian, this will become an avenue for you to see , how we interpet what is around us.
colimbine/clemet skate park, this is a very fun park thats maintained ok, has a few rough spots but it does get lots of use. a little bigger, softer wheel will make the park fast and you will be able to carve into the pockets and extensions. most transtions are 5 to 6 feet with tight corners. a double coping spine seperates the pockets int he street area . a shade canopy is nice, and a small 3 ft pocket and smaller banks create a jr sized area. there is also a 10 ft pool that has a 4 ft step up section with a pocket. several ledges and stairs angle down into the street area. Its sommewhat small and tight, but very fun, has aspects of everthing. you can even long board on the path around the park..
| well what is there to say about the golden skatepark|
except for the fact that this little park has not changed for almost 30 years. this park has had a life a lot longer than most parks in that area. what a statement for the test of time? so most likely you know whats there. a big flat pad of concrete with a few street obstacles. a launch ramp in the corner that really goes no where, a manny pad with rail in the middle, a steep 10 ft long quater pipe on the egde of the park , a transition to steep flat bank, handrail stair set in the other corner, then the most favorite and prized of it all, a metal mini ramp.. ohhh the joy of this metal mini! I am amazed this park has not changed, with the resources the golden community has its a shame the have not upgraded this facility. i mean , pour some concrete around the edges, make it so you can flow and get some speed, granted it was origanally built for the early 90,s street shred, but lets use some knowledge and build better parks that can handle more people at a time and have a better skate enviroment!
